Hey everyone. I have adult ADD and I'm taking a medication that is messing with my head. PLEASE help me?
I'm taking a generic form of Adderall called Amphetamine salt combo and it's messing with my head. I'm pissed off all the time about just about everything and I started being like this when I first started taking the stuff, 9 years ago. It's progressively gotten worse, to the point where I think I'm actually going to seriously hurt somebody, and I need your help. Is there anything I can take instead without those horrible side effects? Nothing like rapid heartbeat, high Blood Pressure, aggression, because honestly, it's getting pretty bad. I'm totally impatient and VERY easily pissed off and I don't like feeling this way. I lost the old me 9 years ago, and I would like her back. Is there ANYTHING that's proven to work that doesn't have those horrible side effects? Something to help me with my attention span and depression. Maybe if it's effective enough, it will take away my depression as well as my focus problems. I seriously need your help, guys. I'm annoying myself and others. Thx.
Most (if not all) FDA-approved medications for ADD are derived from amphetamine, such as your Adderall. I would expect the same side effects from all of them. But if you and your doctor are comfortable going off-label, there are several options in the link below.
