Okay, so I have this Social Studies project due tomorrow which I've only just started - I haven't been procrastinating, I've just been away from school and only just found out about it - and I REALLY need to get it done, there for I have to answer the question.
Since manpower was short--men were abroad fighting--women took jobs formerly performed by men. For instance, they were employed in factories building airplanes and other war equipment. Employers and women grew accustomed to working. After the war more women were in the workforce than before. Women proved they were fully capable of performing well in the jobs they were assigned.
Same thing happened after WW II. Both wars played important roles in creating the "working woman."
